Week 155 - Bang

  • Andy and I went back to the Leicester Square Theatre this week, this time to see Russell Howard. A few weeks ago he was playing to 25,000 people, this time to around 400 to try out new material. Aside from a few moments all seemed impressively polished. He’s a very good stand-up.
  • I took a half-day off work for us all to visit the Ministry of Science at Ally Pally - a stage show with explosions and experiments to entertain curious little minds. Lots of fire and lots of bangs. Mission accomplished: both boys now want to be scientists when they’re older.
  • While his older brother went to a birthday party on Saturday morning I took our youngest along to cricket practice and then Lego club at the library. There was a new boy at cricket so C took him under his wing/bossed him about. At Lego our theme was the Olympics so he decided to build a stadium with footballers. I was put in charge of finding the big bricks.
  • More car stuff: we now have a home EV charger for the new car. It’s an Ohme Home Pro installed by Octopus to use their 7p/kWh EV smart charging tariff.
  • We ended the week at Arsenal’s last pre-season match: Olympique Lyonnais in the Emirates Cup. It was C’s very first Arsenal match and he coped well with the crowds and the noise. We all wore our Arsenal shirts, me in my 2003-04 away shirt, the boys’ a little more recent. We won 2-0, saw Calafiori’s debut and went home happy.
